Assistant Farm Manager
Position Description
We are partnering with a well-established fresh produce business in Far North Queensland to recruit an Assistant Farm Manager to support large-scale banana farming operations.
Reporting to the General Manager – Farming & Operations (QLD), this hands-on role will assist with day-to-day farm performance across production, safety, quality, labour, and cost control. You will supervise farm and shed teams, coordinate labour and training, monitor crop health, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily farm operations to meet production, budget, and quality targets
- Supervise and motivate farm and shed teams
- Coordinate labour resourcing, inductions, and training
- Maintain WHS, food safety, and QA compliance
- Assist with crop monitoring, irrigation, fertiliser, and pest management
- Support harvest forecasting and operational reporting
About You
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role withinhorticulture
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a hands-on environment
- Basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel)
Qualifications highly regarded: Agriculture-related qualification, forklift licence, chemical certification, and First Aid.
